Who is suitable for obesity surgery?

What is the duration of weight loss after obesity surgery?

Rapid weight loss usually starts in the first 6 months after surgery. In most patients, around 60–80% of the excess weight is lost within the first year. The exact course of weight loss depends on nutrition, physical activity and lifestyle habits.

Will I gain weight again after surgery?

With proper nutrition, regular follow-up and lifestyle changes, your new weight can be maintained in the long term. However, if you return to high-calorie, unbalanced eating and a sedentary lifestyle, there is always a risk of regaining some weight.
